Stock Market Live Update: Sensex settles 2,600 pts higher, Nifty above 23,300 mark

Stock Market Live Update: PSU stocks remained in focus today amid positive sentiments among investors, leading to the surge in PSE and PSU Bank indices.

Stock Market Live, Share Market News: A day before the country heads into election results, frontline equity indices Sensex and Nifty 50 continued its bull run on Monday (June 3) on the back of strong investors sentiment.

The domestic indices opened at record high with Nifty 50 advancing 3.58 per cent, or 807.20 points higher at 23,337.70 and Sensex trading 2,621.98 points, or 3.55 per cent higher at 76,583.30. On similar lines, Nifty Bank opened above 50,000 for the first time ever after exit polls suggested a return for the Modi government with a thumping majority.

The Indian government bond yields dropped marginally with the benchmark 10-year yield slipping at 6.9541 per cent after previous close of 6.96 per cent at 1 pm. All sectoral indices inched higher with PSU Bank and PSE indices being top gainers. India VIX, or ‘Fear Index’, continues to hover around 20 after slipping nearly 19 per cent. The currency market also witnessed a stronger start on the back of stronger equity markets. In the first trading session of this week, the Indian rupee opened at 82.99 against the US dollar. The rupee had closed 82.46 against the American currency on Friday. 

Stock Market Today Live: Nifty FMCG near day's lows

Share Market News: Nifty FMCG is trading at 572.55 points, or 1.06 per cent higher at 54,679.00. The index reported an intraday high at 55,184.85 while the day's lows was recorded at 54,552.15.

> Godrej Consumer, 2.97 per cent higher at 1,308.05
> Varaun Beverages, 2.52 per cent higher at 1,462.70
> Emami, 1.57 per cent higher at 635.35

Stock Market Today Live: Along with frontline indices, broader markets participate in rally

Share Market News: Nifty Midcap 100 inched 1,390.65 points, or 2.69 per cent higher at 53,098.05 while Nifty Smallcap 100 inched 349.20 points, or 2.09 per cent higher at 17,044.35.

Top midcap gainers includes Hindpetroleum, Container corporation, JSW Energy, Indian Bank, Godrej Properties among others. 

Top Smallcap gainers include IRB Infrastructure, Engineers India, Dilip Buildcon, Indian Bank, Ircon International.

Stock Market Today Live: RIL inches 5% higher

Share Market News: Heavyweight Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) inched 143.85 points, or 4.97 per cent higher at 3,000.85.

The share price hit intraday high at 3006.60 while the share hit intraday low at 2,918.00

Stock Market Today Live: Sensex, Nifty off day's high

Share Market News: After a gap-up opening at record highs, Indian frontline indices soared higher to touch fresh highs.

30-share BSE Sensex inched 2257 points, or 3.06 per cent higher at 76,218.31 while 50-share Nifty inched 681.40 points, or 2.09 per cent higher at 23,208.30.

Nifty Bank also participated in the rally with a surge 1,700 pts at 50,764.70

Share Market News: Nifty PSU Bank inched 522.75 points, or 7.08 per cent higher at 7,911.75.

> SBI, 8.24 per cent higher at 898.75
